HDMI Graphics Gremlin on ISA Systems
Contents
At the end of 2024, I purchased an HDMI Graphics Gremlin in order to get modern HDMI output from my older ISA-based computers.
I initially attempted to use it with my 8088 single-board computer, but unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be compatible. More testing will be required with other systems to verify full functionality.
For now, it's clear that I shouldn't assume 100% CGA compatibility when working with newly acquired vintage machines.
🛠️ Manual
There's a correction to the DIP switch settings listed in the manual, specifically in the section describing MDA mode. The colors for yellow and white output modes are reversed in the original documentation — at least when tested via HDMI output.
✅ Correct DIP Switch Settings
